Going through another pregnancy after c section surgery generally won’t cause too many problems if a reasonable time has elapsed between the operation and pregnancy. 12 to 18 months is a good time frame to allow as at this point your body will have fully recovered from from the c section surgery.

Pregnancy after c section within only a few months does carry some risks…

Having multiple pregnancies in a short period of time may result to two potential risks. When we say short period of time, it can be getting pregnant after three to nine months after a cesarean section. Because you may develop iron deficiency, your baby may have a high risk of being pre-mature. There is also a high risk of uterine rupture if you conceive within six months after c section.

Don’t panic if you do become pregnant within a short space of time, but you must consult with your doctor as soon as you can to get his professional advice and guidance.
